Microwaves are metal and the door has a good seal. If you need dry goods storage and you have enough hidden cabinet or pantry space, you can stow an old microwave on a shelf then put paper packages and bags of beans, rice, flour in there. Rodents can’t get in.

I also carry furniture sliders with covers so that they can be used on carpet or on bare floors. I don’t use them too often but they sure have come in handy for moving heavy objects when needed. And zip ties, too!

That’s where labels come in handy. You could add coloured spots (same colour as the room the bed is in) for easy recognition, and label the shelf where the bedding kept – so you know where to put each size and can grab it quickly when needed. The other option is to keep bedding in the same room as it’s needed. All these will help avoid any possible confusion, for sure!

I do not want all white sheets in a household that has several sizes of beds. To choose sheets and pillowcases that fit a particular bed, I would have to find the labels or some other indicator of size for each piece of bedding. At our like place, we have every common size of bed and launder guest bedding very often. All white bedding would make this more work rather than less.

I would add – having a bedside table and a light by the bed that can be turned off without getting out of bed. Since they may be in unfamiliar territory, it’s nice to not have to stumble around in the dark getting into or out of bed.
Also, many people now charge their cell phones at night but want to keep them nearby. Making sure the bed is near an accessible plug or running an extension cord/power strip to the edge of the bed is nice.
